I dream of poetry in cafes
Of essaying immortal rhymes on mountaintops
Yet whenever I am there
the pen is silent.
My mundane muse flees from the sublime.
When inhaling the air of buses and trains,
or the dank of alleys and shower stalls.
A thousand words run through my head
